Emergency Preparedness

The Public Health Emergency Preparedness section is planning for natural or manmade emergencies or disasters that may affect the public's health. It involves the following objectives:

  • Collaborating with other emergency preparedness personnel to address health issues that may occur.

  • Collaborating with community partners to ensure rapid detection of disease patterns and timely dissemination of accurate information.

  • Developing plans and procedures for responding to public health emergencies, including plans for mass vaccination and the distribution of prophylaxis.

  • Attending trainings with local, regional, and state personnel to prepare for public health emergencies.

The Dickinson-Iron District Health Department has developed the EmergencyPreparedness section of the website to provide information and resources related to preparing for emergencies or disasters that may affect the public's health. The site will also be utilized during emergencies to provide the public with important information. Also, links are provided to other local, state, and federal emergency preparedness sites.
