Family/Individual Preparedness

Planning for emergencies involves these 4 steps:

  •  Step 1: Stay informed about different types of emergencies that could occur in your area and their appropriate responses.
  • Step 2: Make a family emergency plan.
  • Step 3: Build an emergency supply kit.
  • Step 4: Get involved in your community by taking action to prepare for emergencies.

If you do one “thing” each month it helps reduce the stress of having to prepare all at one time. Taking small steps towards preparedness helps you and your community prepare for the unexpected.

Disasters happen everywhere, and every member of the family can prepare. Preparedness for the future starts today.

The Michigan State Police MIREADY program provides resources and education to prepare Michigan residents for emergencies, disasters, and threats to our homeland.
