Maternal-Infant Health Program (MIHP)

About

The Maternal Infant Health Program (MIHP) provides in-home support and education to pregnant women and infants who are Medicaid eligible. MIHP promotes healthy pregnancies, positive birth outcomes, and healthy infants.


The Maternal Infant Health Program (MIHP) provides specialized preventative services catered to each family’s individual needs through registered nurses, nutritionists, and social workers.

Prenatal Services

The MIHP supplements prenatal care. Some services that are provided:

  • Psychosocial and nutritional assessments
  • Care Coordination
  • Childbirth Education
  • Breastfeeding Education
  • Public Health Nursing
  • Referrals to Specialists and Community Resources

Infant Services

Infant Services

To ensure a healthy start in life, the MIHP provides non-medical support services to infants up to 18 months of age and may include:

  • Monitors infant health and development
  • Oral health information and fluoride varnish application
  • Breastfeeding support and education
  • Family planning support, education, and referrals
  • Nutrition and Social Work Counseling
  • Referral for services
